Daily Reiki meditation from Gazelli House South Kensington’s reiki master Jasmin Harsono

Our reiki master Jasmin Harsono has created a one-minute meditation focused on breathing and encouraging awareness of the mind and body as a whole. Jasmin suggests starting a morning ritual and talking a moment of calm to start your day. This should be a quiet moment – ideally before anything or anyone stirs. In this moment, using the breath, allow yourself to let go of anything that no longer serves you.

One-minute Daily Meditation

Find a quiet space, lower your gaze, soften your jaw and shoulders. Start to become aware of your thoughts and feelings. Try not to judge or censor them, just notice them. Tune into all the sensations you are experiencing. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth, softly and gently. To end, stretch your arms vibrantly up to the sky, take a deep breath and as you exhale bring your arms back down by your sides. Smile. Open your eyes. Carry on with your day.  

Jasmin also suggests starting each day with a positive affirmation. The reticular activating system (RAS) is an area of our brain that makes words that are repeated over time part of our identity – positive or negative. Jasmin starts each day with:

Today I rise and shine to a new day.

I am happy.

I am healthy.

And I am loved.

I trust my intuition, heart and soul’s purpose.
